Shima agrees with Yuki and Saki to dress as a girl just to see Misae in action at school, this has become a gender-bending anime!
Anime Impressions
A little late in watching this episode this week but my predictions about Shima was correct. I love how Misae’s story was told through Shima, where he was not actually the real Shima who died a long time ago. I was a little uneasy at first when Misae’s friends discovered about it. When Misae realised that Shima fulfilled the wish of the real Shime at the fall festival and vanished, I could not help but feel that this was not the real climax of the story. I liked how things worked out and the way that Misae bounced back was a relief, with here staring again in the Male Dormitory.
I could not help but laugh at the comedy scenes that Kyo-Ani injected into the seriousness of the episode every now and then. They tied the supernatural themes in this one very well that makes my feels warm and sad at the same time towards the characters.
The best climax was when Tomoya passed the message from the cat ("Shima") at the festival. When Misae was chasing her cat, who ran to the same place that she told Shima she loves him, Tomoya relayed the message that Shima promised to be with her always, Misae realised that Shima has been with her ever since she moved to the Male Domitory. Best anime episode ever and I can’t wait to see more of CLANNAD. The next episode seems to revolve around Miyazawa and Sonohara again.
