There are many other animes for this winter 08 season, but due to a few instances of being busy with other things, I have to play catchup with my anime watchlist. I have been so far been following CLANNAD and Toradora but there are some other anime which I want to immediately check out this week.

  • Kannagi
  • Taoru Majutsu no Index
  • Vampire Knight ~Guilty~
  • Tales of the Abyss

What animes have you missed and want to watch too? Leave a comment below.

I’d love to get around to watching the first season of ef – a tale of memories, since the sequel is showing this season, but since I’m following so many already, I barely have time to keep up with the ones I’m watching this season, much less add another onto the pile. Perhaps I’ll go back and marathon both seasons all at once, when this season is over. Although I guess that depends on how the next season’s lineup looks.

From the ones on your list of wanting to watch, I’d recommend Kannagi. I’m starting to have some hesitation as to how it’ll play out, but so far it has been full of laughs. If it turns out to be just another harem show, then oh well, but the first four episodes haven’t disappointed me. Not to mention the opening sequence is amazing. Typically I skip over the opening sequences of most shows so I can just get to the show, but I watch Kannagi’s opening every single week, it’s just that good.
To Aru Majutsu no Index might be one you’d wanna wait and watch all at once. It’s kinda confusing right now, and the pacing seems a bit off. It went super fast at first and then all of the sudden it’s like it hit a pit of molasses. I can’t say it’s horrible, but it’d be nice to be able to just skip ahead a few weeks. Possibly just this part of the story is a bit slow, and kinda tough to digest.
Tales of the Abyss, while not really bad in any way, is pretty played out. That’s to be expected of the fantasy genre, it’s full of the same old tired cliches. That said, it’s still enjoyable to watch, but it’s not something that is really groundbreaking, at least so far. I’m really just watching it because Tear is voiced by Yukana, who also did C.C. in Geass :D
As for Vampire Knight Guilty, I never watched the first season, and I felt like I had too much to watch already, so I didn’t even look into it.

THanks for the Info very well written, yeah Tales is a rather generic Fantasy anime but I need my usual Fantasy RPG Anime fix for a while.
