Anime Impressions:
Its been half a year since I stared watching Macross Frontier. I have been very satisfied watching all the Macross shows. It has always brought a smile to me every time I watch it. Its hard to describe or classify Macross, It has Singing, Fantasy, Science-Fiction, Mecha, Drama Love story and lots of over the top space dogfight battles. Macross F is no different as its theme of Love conquers all is really kept consistent throughout the series, but along with it were some new ways of portraying the characters and action as well.
I really loved all the singing and action scenes edited together, it feels rather good seeing it. I do look forward to the listening to the Music and applaud Yoko Kanno, Nakajima Megumi, May’n, and Shōji Kawamori and the Staff for making Macross different and a fun experience, unlike other anime. Macross F stands out against the others so far and the Animation is visually appealing.
Some scenes I liked were:
-Ranka using the Vajara against the Vajara Queen and its really similar to Macross Plus / Macross where the Zentradi go against their masters.
- A Zentradi holding a picture of Minmei, as if he remembered how they defeated with a song.
- The Mecha Battles and Space Fleet battles.
- And of course the Music. Seeing Ranka and Sheryl singing together was cool just like in the Opening.
The love story between Alto, Ranka and Sheryl was kind of left hanging, but I was glad it ended that way, those that were looking to find closure will want to now know more and will have to speculate who Alto will end up with.
If you have been looking at other anime you should pause and look at Macross Frontier you will laugh cry (maybe) and mostly feel a sense of relief and feeling good. If the visual don’t captivate you the music will. I do look forward to the Macross F movie when it comes out. Check out the Ending Video as it show Ranka, Sheryl, Alto and the rest making a final appearance as they make a new home on the Vajara Planet.

Forget gundam this is the best mecha series i ever seen although Macross has the less actions than Gundam.
